Tallaght Leisure Centre (along with Clondalkin Leisure Centre, www.clondalkinleisure.com) is operated by South County Dublin Leisure Services CLG (SCDLS, Company Number 260616) on behalf of South Dublin County Council (www.sdcc.ie) on a not-for-profit basis. SCDLS is a company limited by guarantee and currently has the following officers:
Dermot Smith, CEO
Benefitting from over 20 years’ experience in the leisure industry, Dermot brings a diverse range of knowledge to the team. In 2008 Dermot took up the role of Duty Manager with SCDLS, progressing to Centre Manager in Tallaght within two years. Having in-depth experience of SCDLS, Dermot was appointed CEO of SCDLS in October 2021. Dermot attends all board meetings as CEO and is not a member of the board.
Ciaran Flynn, Chairperson
Ciaran is a Chartered Accountant and Chartered Financial Analyst, working as Head of Governance, Risk and Compliance Consulting with Arthur Cox. He has been an independent and volunteer director of SCDLS since January 2022 and was appointed Chairperson in June 2022. He is a resident of Clondalkin and spends his spare time ferrying his kids between various sporting activities and coaching underage rugby with Clondalkin RFC.
Kevin Rooney, Director
Kevin Rooney is Head of Marketing for MJ Flood Technology and a native of Clondalkin. He learned how to swim at a young age in the old pool at Clondalkin Leisure Centre and has just hung up the boots after playing rugby for Clondalkin RFC. Kevin was appointed as an independent and volunteer director of SCDLS in January 2022.
Joe Lumumba, Director.
Joe has been employed in the leisure services as Duty Manager and Centre Manager in various Dublin City Council sports facilities. A native of Tallaght, Joe now resides in Clondalkin and is employed by South Dublin County Council as Administrative Officer of the Community Development section.
Lucy Cush, Director
Lucy has worked as the Sports Inclusion Disability Officer for South Dublin County Sports Partnership for the past four years having completed her masters in Activity Leadership and Adapted Physical Activity. Lucy is now employed by South Dublin County Council as Healthy South Dublin Co-Ordinator.
