Our state-of-the-art fitness studio boasts an extensive range of equipment designed to cater for all aspects of health and exercise. Cardiovascular equipment including treadmills, stationary bikes, cross-trainers and rowing machines contain personal built-in tv screens, along with resistance machines & free weights, they combine to provide an effective total body workout. In addition, our fully equipped express circuit room caters for members who require a quicker, yet beneficial, aerobic workout.

Resistance training, also known as weight or strength training is an important tool for achieving a complete healthy life. Ideal for toning, building muscle and strength, resistance training provides great benefits when incorporated with a weight loss programme. Our Fitness Studio is fully equipped with high tech Paramount equipment, to enable you to reach your fitness goals and achieve a better looking body.
Cardiovascular training will help you burn body fat and lose weight. It also has numerous health benefits, in addition to burning calories and losing body fat, cardio training strengthens your heart and lungs. We offer a wide range of cardiovascular equipment including:
Treadmills
Stationary bikes
Climbers
Elliptical trainers
Rowing machines
Many of our cardiovascular machines have heart rate monitors and in-built television screens for your convenience. Our trained staff will assist you in every way to make sure that you are working at the correct heart rate and level for optimum effect.
Tallaght Leisure Centre has a long tradition and great reputation for providing quality aerobic classes. Currently running morning, evening and weekend sessions to suit all levels, our classes comprise of stretching, strength training, and aerobic exercise in order to improve all elements of fitness.
The Centre has provided step classes, like aerobic classes, for many years. Offering a different type of workout, step classes involve stepping on and off a purpose built step to music. Great fitness benefits can be achieved from this exercise.
Based on the five components of fitness (flexibility, muscular strength, muscular endurance, body composition, cardio-respiratory endurance), this type of session offers a thorough workout for the whole body. Sessions vary to suit the needs of different abilities and individual programmes can be drawn up for fitness studio members.
As a member of our gym you will be offered a personal fitness programme to suit your individual needs. One of our staff members will draw up a training plan for you after first discussing your goals, aims, current health, and fitness level and exercise history. If you start with a plan it is far more likely that you will adhere to a training routine. Your workouts should be something you look forward to and not something akin to hard work. By having a personal programme you can monitor your progress and measure your fitness gains.
The Centre provides aerobics and step classes to school groups. Very popular with transition and senior classes this type of exercise is one of the few that appeals to this age group.
We are conscious that many beginners may wish to attend classes suited to their needs. At these classes things are taken slightly easier and greater emphasis is placed on explaining moves and technique.
Beginners classes are available for aerobics and step.
Yoga Classes - Beginners & Mixed Abilities
Wednesday 7pm
Open to all levels of fitness. Enjoy gentle yoga poses that focus on breathing and stretching. Classes include relaxation. Yoga can also help you cope with stress, relieve tension, and deal with anxiety and depression.

Pilates – Beginners & Mixed Abilities
Thursday 7pm
Pilates exercises teach correct breathing and spine alignment to strengthen your core muscles which will help alleviate or even prevent back pain. Pilates is used to increase strength and flexibility of the body without building any muscle mass. Because there are a vast range of different exercises, Pilates is suited for the absolute beginner as well as the fit and agile athlete!
